RNR Band

Solo & Ensemble Festival will be held Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Chuckey-Doak High School in Chuckey, Tennessee.  PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MUST PROVIDE YOUR OWN TRANSPORTATION.  Any 6^th, 7^th or 8^th grade member of the RNR Band is eligible to attend.

Solo & Ensemble Festival is an opportunity for each individual band student to prepare a solo and/or an ensemble to be judged by a single judge.  Each solo and/or ensemble will be given a rating of III – good, II – excellent, or I – superior.  Superior and excellent ratings will receive a medal.  All students will receive a certificate of participation.  There is a registration fee of $6.00 per person per event.  Students can enter no more than 3 events, but are reminded that quality of the performance should be the top consideration.  Checks should be made out to Robinson Band Parents’ Association.

“Graded” music is used for the festival; not “pop” or “radio” tunes.  Music Doctors’ has some graded music.  Students are to provide their own music.  Someone in the store should be able to help you with the selection of your music (they are not to pick it out for you) or your private instructor will help you.

Mrs. Hutchison must approve music when each student pays his or her registration fee.  Music will be approved and fees collected during class January 31^st through February 3^rd.

Congratulations to all of the students that auditioned for our Upper East Tennessee Junior Band Clinic 2012!  Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication, you went above and beyond what was expected!  I am VERY proud of you!  Mark your calendars for February 10-11, details will be posted soon!  

On Saturday, January 14, 2012, Junior Clinic Auditions will be held at Volunteer High School in Church Hill, Tennessee.  Auditions will begin at 9:00am and each student will be given a audition time at school that signed up to participate.  Please note the following details that will help make your day run smoothly…
